This golf friendly island is rapidly becoming a major destination for golfers from all over the world. Equipment can be hired at every club on the island, as can electric 'buggies' or plain old-fashioned 'caddy carts'. Tee times can be booked easily even without club membership. Proper golf attire is expected, as most regular golfers will understand.
Tenerife is on the golf circuit as it hosts the Ladies Tenerife Open (article). Famous names come to the island with various golf clubs being given the honour of holding the competition which is televised and followed by a wide audience from all over the world. The 2009 tournament is being held at the Golf Costa Adeje (photos) on the 24th to 27th of September. For those of you holidaying at this time, we recommend going along to watch the girls in action. The entrance is free and you will have a super day and appreciate the all round golf skills of the ladies.
