El Rosario
El Rosario, meaning "The Rosary", is a municipality in the north eastern part of Tenerife. The city is also a suburb of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife area. The administrative centre of the municipality is La Esperanza. The land area stretches from the coastal towns of Tabaiba and Radazul up to the plains of La Esperanza and borders with Santa Cruz, La Laguna, La Matanza, El Sauzal, Tacoronte, and Candelaria. The population as of 2005 was 16,024 and the actual land area is 39.42 km². Its economy consists of business, tourism, and some agriculture.

El Rosario covers 14 community areas, La Esperanza, Barranco Hondo, Las Barreras, Lomo Pelado, Llano del Moro, Machado, Radazul, Las Rosas, El Chorrillo (San Isidro), Tabaiba, Llano Blanco, Boca Cangrejo, Costa Caricia and Costanera.

The south west of the area is part of a larger Nature Park, called Monte de La Esperanza which is a large forest mass of great environmental interest. La Esperanza pine forest is an area which partially occupies a typical laurel forest habitat, where there is no lack of wax myrtle and tree heath.

At Las Raices, there is a recreation area and camp site. You get there by taking the TF-824 road, 9 kilometers towards the main road to the south. You need a permit from the Department of the Environment of the Island Cabildo to stay overnight. The rugged coastline is also a good area for recreational activities.
